Writers and Artists

Writers and Artists Every strand of golden hair Once was with a pencil shared And every line of golden text Has brushed against the wooden desk And every teacher, not too stern Showed their pupils, eager to learn, How to craft black iron gates And forge the tools of fictional fates Lovers and monsters, villains and poets– Life exists in the artists who show it And writers who dare to speak their dreams Will sew their clouds with silver seams And papers bought by the pound Will find themselves leather-bound And as long as writers learn to write They will tell their stories late into the night
