Advanced Learner, Bullying, From Struggling to Thriving, I Love Public School at Home, Why My School is AWESOME
My old school had a lot of bullying, every one wanted to be better then everyone else, so they tried to put other people down. I was the target of a lot of bullying because I wear the hijab- a Muslim hair covering worn to show modesty. A lot of people used to call me racist names and be very rude. I ignored it as much as possible, a few of my old friends stopped talking to me because other people told them I was "not good to be around"- they weren't real friends to begin with. I still had a lot of friends to support me and comfort me, but I didn't show any pain, I pretended it didn't bother me- but it did. One day I couldn't take it anymore so, I convinced my parents to let me got to cyber school the coming year. That was the best decision I ever made, everyone here is so nice, I get to be in more advanced classes, I get to have flexible hours and It's amazing overall. Its way better then having your locker slammed in your face every time you opened it, or having counselors say :"Don't take it personally" and not doing anything about your struggles. To anyone that witnesses bullying, please stand up for yourself and others. We should all love one another regardless of Race, Color, Religion, etc. Thank you for taking the time to read this, Have a wonderful day :)
