From boredom to Enthusiasm

Hello, my name is Joel and I'm an 8th grade student at ORVA. Life was pretty average at my old public schools. I had good grades and had a group of friends, but I always felt somewhat restrained. The way lessons were taught was boring, and the actual work was even more so. Whether it was me doing nothing for 30 minutes while the rest of the students finish, or even just being given several times the work of the others, everything left me feeling unsatisfied. Eventually, my mom saw this and introduced me to other school options, few of which I had previously known about. That is how I was introduced to ORVA. ORVA stood out then, now 4 years ago, with its uniquely fun lessons and the ability to work at my own pace, rather than that of fellow students and the teacher. I was enrolled in K12/ORVA shortly afterward, and began my 5th grade schooling with enthusiasm for the lessons. It did not disappoint. I loved it, being able to finish one lesson then move onto the next, with no need of waiting. Eventually I was getting high scores in every subject, even the ones I previously hated. After (3 1/2) years in ORVA, I can definitely look back and be glad I chose this. Even after all this time, the lessons are still fun and the education is still superior to what my friends in 'Brick & Mortar' schools are getting. In the end, I know that my future looks more promising now after being enrolled into K12, with my boredom for schooling having become enthusiasm for it.
