Skating and Schooling

Trying to fit it all in one day was rough. My daughter Nadia loves figure skating. K12 gave her the opportunity to do what she loves and stay academically challenged. I was leery to go to any home school scenario. I run my own company and have hours dictated by clients and kid activities. I knew I couldn't plan curriculum for my daughter on top of an already busy schedule. Our school district uses K12 for students just like my daughter. Now she is able to train on and off the ice daily without worrying if we will make the bus in time. Days when she competes, we do not need to fill out paperwork for approval to miss a school day. She can focus on her deep curiosity for science as long as she wants because we don't need to move to next topic right away. Overall it has been the perfect fit. Nadia has taken gold at all but one of her attended competitions in the last skating season. She continues to excel in both skating and schooling and I am not overwhelmed as her teacher or her parent.
